Source: Tulsa World, Okla.迷你倉Jan. 19--Guitarist and songwriter Jesse Aycock plans to tour on his own to promote his new album, but he's got to take a couple cruises and see the country first.Aycock is set to release his third album, "Flowers & Wounds," on Tuesday. But that day, he heads out to tour with folk supergroup Hard Working Americans, lending his guitar and pedal steel guitar skills to the band. He's also been playing with The Secret Sisters and the Paul Benjaman Band, touring the country.Still, the Tulsa native has set aside some time for his hometown."My plan was to do this record and tour hard on my own stuff," Aycock said. "My life took a different spin."He wouldn't trade these opportunities for anything, though. Hard Working Americans' members include Todd Snider, Dave Schools of Widespread Panic, Neal Casal of The Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Duane Trucks of King Lincoln and the Trucks family and Chad Staehly of Great American Taxi.Aycock said the chance to tour with that crowd and that level of talent is surreal for someone who grew up on North Denver Avenue and played as a kid around the empty warehouses."It was perfect timing," Aycock said about the invitation to play with Hard Working Americans. "The first show was in Boulder (Colo.), a sold-out show. It wamini storage super fun."Aycock has been a staple of the Tulsa music scene for years. "Flowers & Wounds" is his first album since 2010's "Inside Out of Blue."The album has been some time coming, in part due to Aycock's busy schedule. But getting the album recorded was quick -- about 10 days. Most of the recording was at Tulsa's Church Studio. On Tuesday, the record will be available on iTunes or through Horton Records in Tulsa.Aycock said his influences include The Birds, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and Neil Young, among others. Those sounds are evident in the album and fit well with Aycock's voice and style."I like that style so much because it pulls from pop and country and folk," Aycock said.Once Aycock's touring schedule calms down some, he said he'll focus more on promoting his album and sound, but he's enjoying the ride he's on now.Jerry Wofford 918-581-8346jerry.wofford@tulsaworld.comJESSE AYCOCKNew album: "Flowers & Wounds"Release date: Jan. 21Available on iTunes and Amazon for pre-order and for download on Jan. 21.
